Specsavers has secured a six-figure deal to sponsor weather reports on Scottish television channel STV.
The campaign, which was launched on Monday (February 1), sees a quirky animation short by the multiple aired before and after three daily weather broadcasts. The deal runs until the end of the year.
Using stop time animation the advert features a traditional Swiss-style weather house with a male and female resident behind each door. The women emerges out of one door when it is sunny and dry, and the man out of the other when it rains (pictured). However, with the characters unable to see properly outside they exit through the wrong doors, with the woman covered in snow and the man melting in the hot sun.
STV’s weather reports attract an estimated audience of 400,000.
