Scott Mackie has been appointed professional services director at Optical Express. He joins the multiple in his role just days after stepping down as organiser of Eyecare 3000.

Dr Mackie (pictured right), who is a registered optometrist and dispensing optician, has a PhD in diabetic eye disease, as well as post graduate qualifications in therapeutic prescribing and low vision.

David Moulsdale (pictured left), chairman and CEO of Optical Express, said: “I have known Dr Mackie for almost 20 years and we share the same ideals of providing the best in patient care. I believe Scott has the qualities we need for this role; intuitive vision, strength of character and a passion for a complete eye care solution in spectacles, contact lenses, refractive and intraocular surgery. I am delighted that he is now part of the Optical Express team.”
