A new bulletin will keep South Yorkshire optometrists up to date with the latest developments and opportunities in the region.
South Yorkshire Optometry Forum chair, Pretty Basra, shared that the forum was established last year by NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board to ensure consistent care across the area.
Three local optical committees (LOC) contribute to the publication of the bulletin in partnership with the forum: Doncaster, Sheffield, and Rotherham and Barnsley.
“The first edition will introduce the bulletin and explain the forum, including how the forum and LOCs relate to each other,” Basra explained.
“Future editions will then focus on specific themes of interest to the profession – the next bulletin will pull together the training and development available to people working locally in optometry,” she said.
Basra shared that those who are interested in receiving the bulletin should sign up to their LOC’s distribution list. This can be done through the LOC websites for Doncaster, Sheffield, and Rotherham and Barnsley.
